My Love Language is Truffle Oil

Potato Soup with Bacon and Truffle Oil

I was first introduced to Truffle Oil when I started taking cooking classes.  I've been a fan every since then!

Lemon Chess Bread Pudding

The church had "The Day of Stuff," where all the stuff that has been donated, etc was gone through with a fine tooth comb.  I didn't go to the day of stuff because I wasn't feel well, but I made food to send to those who were working.

Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake

Daily Bread

Carrot Cake Brownies

Better Than Easter...Carrot Cake Poke Cake

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Bars

Blueberry Croissant Puff

There is not cottage cheese on top.  It was cream cheese that I didn't beat up enough, so it looked kinda gross.

Chocolate-Cherry Cookies

I didn't care for these.  They had dried cherries in the cookie with chocolate chips.  I'm not posting the recipe.

Daily Bread

I am pretty proud of the bread making experience.  This was the first assignment in my baking class.  I've never made bread.  It seemed intimidating, and I am not a very patient person.  It kept getting moved to the bottom of my culinary list.  It was interesting that this was the first thing that was chosen by our instructor.

I was priviledged to have my Math assistant be a skilled breadmaker.  She stayed after school with me to get the dough right.  She instructed me on simple things that may be obvious to those who have made bread for years, but I needed it.  I'm looking forward to working more with bread.

The best part was one of my students asking me how the bread turned out.

I love the essay, "Made by Hand," from NPR's This I Believe series.  When I first heard it, I cried.

Saturday

Last Friday, I had two students who were in "Blackbeard the Pirate" play that our school district put on.  HH and I went to watch it.  I had HH go and pick up flowers for the girls.  We knew several other students from last year and working at the church.

Lucky Charms Treats

Milk Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Cookies

One of my sweet students asked something that tugged hard at my heart.  This boy has a tough home life.  He comes to my church and to our Friday night program.  He came up to me on Thursday telling me that his mom's birthday was on Saturday, and could I get a present so he could give it to her.  HH was in Rapid City, so he picked up some stuff from Bath and Body Works.

I am reading The One and Only Ivan to my class right now.  They are loving it, and so am I.  I actually started reading it to HH.

Today, I am starting a 6-week E-Course called "Sacramental Baking."  I am really excited about looking at the everyday aspects of my cooking and my spiritual practice.

HH scored major bonus points the other day while in Rapid City by calling to ask if I wanted him to "Face Time" shop at my favorite clothing store.

This little beauty arrived in the mail yesterday.  I plan on jamming out to it and having a relaxing Saturday.

Food Worth Waiting For...

Peanut Butter Meltaways

Butter Brickle Cookies

These items were for Wednesday night church, but I forgot to take a picture!

Meyer Lemon Pie (No Bake 3 Ingredients)

HH loved how easy this was to make...aka, he didn't have to zest!

Kentucky Potatoes

Visit to Kentucky

I enjoyed my trip to Kentucky.  My dad was released from the hospital last Monday.  I was able to spend most of the trip with him at home, which was what I was intending to begin with.

My nephew Lucas was fascinated with the hospital lights.
National Mustache Day at Sunday School with my brother:

Ben and I really enjoyed Face Time on our phones.

My Gran and I.
I got to meet one the leader of my virtual Pastor's Wives group.  She was awesome!

My sister would not let me take any pictures of or with her.  She is almost due with her baby, and wasn't feeling it.

Like a true teacher, I graded papers all the way back from Rapid City.  I still wasn't caught up, but it did feel good to have a head start.
