Cookies for Class

I have professional development this week from Tuesday through Friday.  No finer way to come back off of holiday if you ask me!  Ha!

I made these cookies to take to class today:

Chewy Chocolate Sugar Cookies

HH's Tattoo

HH got a tattoo while we were in Portland!  He has talked about getting a tattoo on his ring finger for when he needs to have his wedding ring off.  He decided that our trip was a great time to do it.

How fitting it is that he was wearing his "This guy loves his wife" shirt.

Holiday Reads

We were on holiday in Portland, Oregon last week, and here are the books I read.  I'll post more on the holiday later!

Laughing in the Dark

You Can Still Wear Cute Shoes

All is Grace

Cruel Harvest

Baking for the Bank

Year 12 of teaching is in the books.  The last day for students was Tuesday, and I finished up yesterday.  The end of this year was hard.  Last year, my student Tanner helped clean up my entire room.  He committed suicide last fall, and my heart ached remembering this precious boy.
Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Cake

Blackberry Pie Bars

Growing up we ate a lot of strawberries, but didn't branch out to blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.  I love blackberries the best!

Sausage for Mother's Day

We have TWO days of school left.

HH has lost 30 pounds, and can now wear a pair of jeans he hasn't been able to wear for at least 2 1/2 years.

I have memorized the entire first chapter of Romans.  HH's signature line is "Take it From Paul," in which I repeat everything I know...here is the blizzard cake he got me to celebrate.

We had a bomb threat on Thursday, and they sent everyone home.  I used the time to watch two documentaries: Crips and Bloods: Made in America and 4 Little Girls.

HH and I watched the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Les Miserables.

TRUE STORY:  I take my friend's kid out to let him pick out a Mother's Day present.  I ask him what he wants to get his mom, and he says, "SAUSAGE."  His mom was back at the church making sausage balls for an event, and she told some kids she would make them for the Friday Night kids on a different night.  I redirected him to the nail polish section.  He also picked up the ugliest pair of shoes I've ever seen, and I told him that we didn't know what size shoe his mom wore, so we should probably get her a picture frame.

I made these for a graduation party that HH and I attended today.

Lemon White Chocolate Bars with King's Hawaiian Crust

I made these for church on Wednesday night.  This smelled amazing baking!

HH made most of this...

Sunday School Bowling Trip to Pierre

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than bowling with 19 kids! I love riding in the 15 passenger van!

Rosemary Remembrance Cake

I am behind on some of my cooking class recipes! I wasn't able to make this because we didn't have any fresh rosemary on the Rez.

Church Supper Last Wednesday

I tried to make this into a crockpot recipe, and didn't quite succeed.  I soaked the beans overnight, but they still ended up being a bit al dente when it was all said and done.
Easy Lemon Curd (for the Poke Cake)

I am having connection issues with the other laptop, so I can't post all the pictures on here.  Here are a few other random recipes that I've made since the last post.

Banana Snack Cakes

Tex Mex Shepherd's Pie
This was awesome!

WW Cookies 'n' Cream Tortoni

These two cuties helped HH clean out our window air conditioning units all Sunday afternoon.  I cooked them a pizza.

Our New Hutch Arrived!!! (We got rid of a circular table with three barstools in our kitchen to make room.)

Our taxes are finally DONE!  We've paid our debt to Caesar!

We have 8 more days of school!
